The weather is something most of us wouldn't give a second thought to, but it can pose a threat to a novice driver who is unprepared for sudden weather changes and its effect on the road. For instance, a sudden shower of rain can leave puddles on the highway that can be indistinguishable from that of leaked oil. Knowledge of defensive driving techniques can help mitigate any trouble that could arise. Being educated on how to deal with adverse road conditions caused by snow, sleet, fog and ice are a given, as should knowing that bright sunshine can also impair a driver's vision.
